Paid Media & PPC
PPC and paid social campaigns measured from click to sale
We plan, build and manage paid campaigns on Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube, set up the conversions each platform bids toward, and connect every ad to its landing page and your CRM. You see which spend produced qualified enquiries and sales, and why budget moves where it does.
Digital Growth
What is paid media and PPC?
Paid media and PPC (pay-per-click) advertising is buying ad placements on search engines, social networks and video platforms, charged per click, per thousand impressions or per view. Managing it covers campaign structure, keyword and audience targeting, bidding, creative, landing pages and conversion tracking, so spend is judged by the enquiries and sales it produces rather than by clicks.
Ad platforms now automate most bidding and targeting, so the most important input is what you tell them a good result looks like. If a campaign optimises toward a page view, a button click or a form full of spam, Google's Smart Bidding and Meta's Advantage+ will find more of those cheaply and report success while sales stay flat. Phone calls, WhatsApp chats and deals closed weeks later in a CRM rarely reach the platform unless someone builds that path.
So we start by agreeing what a valuable outcome is for your business: a booked call, a qualified lead, a demo or an order with healthy margin. Each outcome gets a value, is marked as the conversion bidding should chase and is tested before money is spent. Only then do we structure campaigns. Platform choice follows the buyer: Google Search catches existing demand, Meta, TikTok and YouTube create it, and LinkedIn earns its higher click costs when job title and company matter more than reach.
The team that runs your campaigns also builds websites, APIs and n8n automations. Landing pages, server-side conversion events and CRM imports are engineered rather than patched in with plugins, and a lead from an ad reaches a salesperson without anyone retyping it. Every significant budget move is logged with its reason and reviewed with you against qualified enquiries and sales.
Challenges
The problems we are usually brought in to solve
Bidding trained on the wrong conversions
Automated bidding optimises toward whatever is marked as a primary conversion, so counting page views, button clicks or spam form fills teaches it to buy cheap traffic instead of customers.
Spend leaking outside the target area
Default location settings, loose match types and unchecked search terms send budget to people in the wrong city, the wrong country or nowhere near ready to buy.
Automated campaigns nobody can see inside
Performance Max and Advantage+ campaigns blend placements, audiences and brand searches, so budget can drift toward cheap inventory or existing customers without anyone noticing.
Ads that land on the home page
Visitors who clicked a specific offer arrive on a generic page, hunt for the detail on a slow mobile layout and leave without enquiring.
Creative that wears out unnoticed
Social audiences see the same video or image until it stops working, and cost per lead climbs for weeks before anyone refreshes the ads.
Accounts held by a former agency
Ad accounts, pixels and audience lists were created under someone else's business profile, so history and access disappear when the contract ends.
Capabilities
What the service covers
Google Search and call campaigns
Keyword research by buyer intent, tightly themed ad groups, negative keyword lists, call ads and call assets scheduled to your opening hours, and location assets linked to Google Business Profile.
Shopping and Performance Max
Product feed clean-up in Merchant Center, then Shopping and Performance Max campaigns split by margin or category, with brand exclusions and low-value placements kept under control.
Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram
Prospecting and retargeting campaigns, Instant Form and click-to-WhatsApp lead ads, catalogue ads for online stores, and enough creative variety for Meta's automated delivery to work with.
LinkedIn advertising for B2B
Targeting by company, industry, job function and seniority, matched audiences from your target account lists, and Lead Gen Form submissions passed straight into your CRM.
TikTok and YouTube video campaigns
Vertical video built for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, Spark Ads from organic posts, YouTube in-stream campaigns, and engaged-viewer audiences reused for retargeting.
Ad copy and creative testing
Responsive search ad headlines written around buyer objections, video hooks for the opening seconds, and a refresh schedule driven by frequency and falling click-through rather than the calendar.
Platform conversion setup
Google Ads conversion actions marked primary or secondary, enhanced conversions, the Meta pixel and Conversions API deduplicated by event ID, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and consent signals passed to each platform.
Bid strategy and conversion values
Manual bidding, Maximise Conversions, target CPA or target ROAS chosen by data volume, with a value per lead type and qualified leads imported from your CRM so bids favour outcomes over form fills.
Campaign landing pages
Fast WordPress or Next.js pages built per offer or ad group theme, repeating the ad's promise, asking for one action and routing every form, call and chat to the right person.
Budget pacing and spend alerts
Spend tracked against the monthly plan by platform and campaign in Looker Studio, with automated alerts when spend spikes, conversions stop recording or an ad is disapproved.
Our process
How an engagement runs
Every engagement has a named lead, a written scope and working software to review every one to two weeks.
- 01
Discovery and account audit
We agree goals, margins and what a qualified lead means, then review existing accounts, conversion settings, search terms, audiences and landing pages to find where spend is leaking.
- 02
Conversion and value plan
Each conversion is defined with a value and a source of truth, implemented in Tag Manager, Analytics and the ad platforms, and tested end to end before any budget goes live.
- 03
Campaign and page build
We structure campaigns, write ads, brief or produce creative and build landing pages, using naming conventions and UTM tags that keep reporting readable months later.
- 04
Controlled launch
Campaigns start on a test budget, with daily checks on search terms, placements, disapprovals and lead quality through the first weeks.
- 05
Test and reallocate
Ad, audience and landing page tests change one variable at a time. Your named lead reviews results with you every one to two weeks and moves budget toward what produces qualified enquiries.

Use cases
Where it makes the biggest difference
Local call campaign
Call ads and call assets shown only in your service area and during the hours someone can answer, with calls above an agreed length counted as conversions. Softweb Planet has run a Google Ads call campaign for a furnishing business alongside its WordPress website and SEO improvements.
B2B demand on LinkedIn and Search
LinkedIn campaigns reach target accounts and job titles while Google Search captures people already comparing providers, with both feeding a single CRM pipeline.
Shopping ads for an online store
Shopping and Performance Max for product searches, Meta catalogue ads to bring back browsers, and reporting by product margin rather than revenue alone.
Click-to-WhatsApp enquiries
Meta ads that open a WhatsApp conversation for audiences who would rather message than fill in a form, which is common in Pakistan and the Gulf, with each chat logged in the CRM and followed up.
Admissions and intake campaigns
Search, Meta and TikTok campaigns timed to application deadlines, with lead forms that route enquiries by course or campus to the right admissions officer.
Video-led product launch
YouTube and TikTok video builds awareness, then search and social retargeting asks engaged viewers for the sign-up, demo or purchase.

Why Softweb Planet
Why teams choose us for this work
Paid search run alongside SEO and the site
Our delivered work includes a Google Ads call campaign for a furnishing business, run alongside the WordPress website and SEO improvements we also provided. We plan every account with your organic rankings and landing pages in view.
Conversion data built as code
Server-side events, CRM imports and consent signals are written and tested by the developers who build our websites and APIs, rather than left to a plugin nobody maintains.
Leads followed up, not only bought
Our automation work with n8n, WhatsApp and CRMs means a lead from an ad can be logged, assigned and acknowledged automatically, so paid traffic is not wasted by slow replies.
Budget changes logged with reasons
Each account has a named lead and a written scope. Budget and bid changes are logged with a reason, and you review them with your lead every one to two weeks.
What you can expect
- Ad spend traced from click to qualified enquiry and, where your CRM allows, to sale
- Bidding that learns from qualified leads and orders rather than raw form fills
- Landing pages that keep the promise each ad makes
- Ad accounts, pixels and audiences owned by your business
- Less spend on irrelevant searches, locations and placements

Paid Media & PPC FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Start where your buyers already show intent. If people search for what you sell, Google Search usually comes first because it reaches demand that already exists. Meta and TikTok suit products that sell on sight or need demand created, LinkedIn suits B2B offers where job title and company size matter, and YouTube works when a short video explains the offer well. We would rather test one or two platforms properly than spread a small budget across five.
Ad spend is separate from our fee and is paid by you directly to Google, Meta or the other platforms. The right budget depends on click costs in your market, how many conversions the platform needs to learn and what a customer is worth to you. During discovery we size a test budget that can produce readable data. Our fee covers setup, tracking, landing pages, optimisation and reporting, and we give a fixed quote once scope is clear.
Clicks start within days, but reliable judgements take longer. Automated bidding needs a run of conversions before it settles, and you need enough leads to see which campaigns produce customers rather than just enquiries. How long that takes depends mainly on budget, click costs and how often visitors convert. We check search terms, placements and lead quality daily in the early weeks, then make larger structural decisions once the data supports them.
No honest figure exists before we see your data, but you can calculate the return you need. Break-even return on ad spend is one divided by your gross margin, so if your margin is 40 per cent, every £1 of ad spend must bring in £2.50 of sales just to break even. We set targets from that threshold and report actual return by campaign. Pricing, competition and sales follow-up also shape the result, and they sit outside the ad account.
Usually yes when competitors or resellers bid on your name, and often not when nobody else appears for it. Brand clicks are cheap and protect the top of the results page, but some of those visitors would have clicked your organic listing anyway. We check auction insights to see who competes for your name, keep brand and non-brand campaigns separate so brand does not flatter overall results, and can pause brand ads in a controlled test to measure what they add.
Performance Max can suit online stores with a clean product feed and steady conversions, but it should not replace Search campaigns by default. One campaign serves ads across Search, Shopping, YouTube, Display, Discover, Gmail and Maps, which is efficient but harder to inspect. When we use it, we add brand exclusions and negative keywords, split campaigns by margin or product group, and keep standard Search running for the queries you need to control directly.
Each tool applies its own attribution rules, so the same sale can be credited more than once. Ad platforms count conversions within their own click and view windows and may add modelled conversions for visitors who declined cookies, while Google Analytics shares credit across channels using its own model. None of these views is wrong, but none is a ledger. We reconcile them against your CRM or order system and report from that source of truth.
Yes. New accounts are created in your business's name, existing ones stay there, and you keep the top admin role. We work through manager or partner access in Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok, so you can remove us at any time without losing campaign history, conversion data, pixels or audiences. Landing pages and tracking configuration are documented and handed over as part of the work.
Both can work, and we decide per campaign. Existing service or product pages are fine when they load quickly on mobile, match the ad's promise and make the next step obvious. When they do not, we build dedicated landing pages on WordPress or Next.js with one clear action, tracked forms and call buttons. For businesses running many offers, we set up reusable templates your team can duplicate for each new campaign.
We remove waste at the targeting level first, then review it continuously. On Google that means checking search terms, building negative keyword lists, targeting people physically present in your area rather than merely interested in it, and scheduling ads to the hours you can answer. On social platforms it means excluding existing customers where sensible, removing placements that send low-quality traffic and watching frequency so audiences are not saturated.
Yes, and an audit is the sensible first step. With read access we review account structure, conversion settings, search terms, audiences, bidding, landing pages and change history, then give you a written list of issues in priority order. If you continue with us, we plan the handover so live campaigns keep running, ownership moves to your business and tracking is fixed before any major restructuring.
Yes, but each market usually needs its own campaigns rather than one shared setup. Click costs, languages, preferred contact channels and platform mix differ by country, so budgets and bids are set per market and ads are written for each audience. A Google Ads account's billing currency cannot be changed after it is created, which sometimes justifies a separate account per country. Landing pages are adapted for each market too.
We fix the cause and, where a policy has been misapplied, appeal the decision. Healthcare, financial services, gambling and alcohol are restricted categories on Google and Meta, some require advertiser verification before ads can run, and Meta limits targeting options for housing, employment and financial products ads. We check policies before writing ads, monitor disapprovals daily and keep landing page claims consistent with the ads so reviews pass.
